The Technical Support Advisor will support individuals and families affected by hearing loss to make better use of assistive listening equipment, communication resources and digital technology to encourage full and confident participation in daily life.
Hearing Link is a UK charity for people with any level of hearing loss, their family and friends. Our vision is a world where everyone can enjoy life and participate fully and confidently, whatever their level of hearing. We will soon be launching ‘Connect Hear NI’, an innovative 5-year project in Northern Ireland, funded by the National Lottery. Connect Hear NI will offer new ways for adults with hearing loss to reconnect with their families and communities and to embrace experiences they are commonly excluded from.
The Technical Support Advisor will engage with volunteers and local communities to support people affected by hearing loss to connect and live better using digital technology and assistive equipment. The ideal applicant will be passionate about helping people find easier ways of communicating and becoming involved with their everyday worlds and will have extensive knowledge of a range of assistive technology devices and communication resources.
This post is part time and home based, initially 2 days per week, with possibility of increasing to 3 days per week within 6 months. Extensive travelling throughout Northern Ireland, and occasionally other areas of the UK, will be required. Salary £18,500 pro rata
