Nexus NI are looking for a part time Team Leader for our new Co-Nexion project funded by The Big Lottery.

Job description:

  Job title:                                Team Leader Co-NEXion

Hours:                                   14 hours per week

Salary:                                   £13.50 per hour

Pension:                               Standard auto enrolment pension scheme

Responsible to:                  Operations Manager

Person Specification:

Essential Criteria:

  • A background in delivery of mentoring, managing support workers or counselling with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
  • Relevant 3rd level qualification
  • Experienced in facilitating groups
  • Word processor/computer literate
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Experience in running a project including returns and monitoring project and budget

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of working in the voluntary sector
  • Experience of working with a range of professionals

Duties will include:

Leading and managing the work with clients who have completed counselling with Nexus NI

  • To manage facilitators as they support clients to join Nexus client forums, set the agenda and take leadership roles within the forums.
  • To manage facilitators as they facilitate clients in further personal development for one year post counselling.
  • To source suitable local training, support and opportunities for clients to connect to local communities
  • Assist in development of local Nexus client forums by supporting clients to set the agenda for the forums.
  • To raise awareness of Nexus NI and client forums in local area.
  • Support and facilitate communications with clients and wider communication in a safe and risk free environment.
  • To assist in development of training for professionals in co-operation with client groups
  • To manage the evaluation, development and delivery of personal development courses
  • To manage support to clients while maintaining boundaries, managing risk and facilitate development of clients own support networks. 
  • To work as part of the team at Nexus NI
  • To represent and consult with voluntary, community and statutory sectors within local area.
  • To manage the evaluation of the project and prepare the reporting.

            To keep clear records of activities and expenses

  • Work within Nexus NI policies, procedures and standards
  • Maintain professional practice standards in line with Nexus NI principles and core standards

Comply with other relevant policies and procedures e.g. Health and Safety Policy

  • Contribute to the development of best practice and service development, taking a lead role as required
  • Undertake responsibilities in directly supporting the work of others in delivering all the services of the team
  • Other appropriate duties as required by the Operations Manager
  • Keep professional records of all programmes of work with supportive notes.
  • Provide a series of staged assessment reports and a final post evaluation report.

General responsibilities

  • To maintain an awareness of own and other’s health and safety and comply with Nexus NI Health and Safety procedures

  • To comply with all relevant Nexus NI child and vulnerable adult safeguarding policies
  • To maintain and develop competence in the use of IT systems
  • Hours of work flexible depending on need
