DISABILITY ACTION

 

Disability Action works for the rights of disabled people.  We are a Northern Ireland wide pan disability organisation working with disabled people with various disabilities; physical, mental, sensory, learning and hidden.

 

The Job Match project is a partnership between Disability Action the Department for Communities (DFC) and the Northern Ireland Union of Support Employment (NIUSE).  It uses a Supported Employment approach to help achieve one of the key targets within the DES ‘Employment and Skills Strategy for People with Disabilities’.  People with disabilities acrossNorthern Ireland can access a tailored job brokerage service offering mentoring, job search and one-to-one intensive support to find sustainable, paid employment.  Job Match is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Department for Communities (DFC). 

 

Disability Action wishes to appoint to the following positions: -

 

(a)     Supported Employment Officer (JM1-17)

(Dungannon – £24,766 – 35 hours per week – fixed to 31 March 2018)

 

(b)     Supported Employment Officer (JM2-17)

(Dungannon – £12,383 – 17½ hours per week – fixed to 31 March 2018)

 

(c)     Supported Employment Officer (JM3-17)

(Carrickfergus – £24,766 - 35 hours per week – fixed to 31 March 2018)

 

In addition to recruiting to the above positions we are also taking this opportunity to create a bank list of suitable candidates for any similar future vacancies that may arise over the next 2 year period.

All of the above positions will require the successful candidate to undergo an Access NI check (enhanced disclosure certificate).

 

Please note that the following additional positive action measures may also be applied:-

 

  • A guaranteed interview for all disabled applicants who meet the minimum (essential) criteria of the person specification for a job vacancy.
  • After short-listing to interview disabled applicants first to establish if a there is an appointable candidate.
  • Create a separate reserve list for disabled applicants.
