Depaul wishes to recruit to the following role:

Support Worker

35 hours per week

Based in our Housing First Service, Belfast

Salary £16,280 FTE, full-time hours, permanent contract

 

This role is an excellent opportunity to join the Housing First team within Depaul NI.     

 

The role:

The Housing First Service primarily aims to permanently house individuals with chronic addictions and provides comprehensive intensive support to enable these individuals to sustain their own tenancies within the community through a case management approach.

  • To be responsible for contacting social housing providers/private landlords to secure appropriate affordable accommodation and through referrals to external agencies put supports in place to assist with sustainment of tenancy.
  • To provide a harm reduction and low threshold service to individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
  • To ensure that all service users have a service user lead needs assessment, safety & wellbeing plan and support plans that utilise harm reduction methods of practice and that these are regularly reviewed.
  • To offer advice and practical support across a range of issues including housing, health, safety, addictions and benefits.
  • To develop and maintain Support Plans based on the assessment of needs with agreed outcomes that are measured and reviewed regularly.



What we expect you to have:

  • Applicants should have one years’ recent paid full-time experience of working with people who have complex needs: (alcohol, drugs, mental health issues etc,) ideally in an outreach or tenancy sustainment capacity.   
  • A full driving licence and access to a car insured for business purposes*

                 *this criteria is waived for candidates unable to meet it due to disability
