Sessional tutors.

Victims and Survivors Trust

Victims & Survivors Trust (VAST) are seeking to recruit a bank of suitably qualified sessional tutors. The work will be to support and work with individuals who have been directly affected by the NI conflict/troubles.

VAST wish to appoint a pool of community based sessional tutors to deliver a wide range of social support and personal and proffessional development programmes as part of our VSP funded Programme.

Community Tutors/Facilitators

Tutors/facilitators will work a maximum of two hours per week and a maximum of 36 weeks per 12-month period depending on role.  The contract period is for 3 years and subject to funding may be extended.

The work will be specifically aimed at individuals who have been directly affected by the NI conflict/troubles. 

Tutors/Facilitators sought:

Yoga, Bach Remedy, Photography, Cookery, History, Creative Writing/Drama, Irish Language, Resilience focussed Programmes, Personal Development and Creative Arts specifically (but not inclusively) clay, felt & needle work, glass work and Soft Furnishings/Upcycling.

Principle duties of tutors:

  1. Deliver series of structured sessions/lessons as directed by organisation
  2. Support and encourage learners at all times
  3. Manage administration in accordance with requirements pertaining to roles and responsibilities.

Essential Criteria

  1. Possession of relevant teaching qualification were applicable
  2. Demonstrable experience in area of expertise (where no formal qualification is evident)
  3. Minimum of 5 years’ experience working within a community setting at least 3 of which must have been spent working with victims and survivors of conflict.
