Recruitment of Sessional Projects worker

 

The Sessional Projects worker will be responsible for delivering a Victims and Survivors Service funded Project. The role is offered on a sub-contract basis and is initially funded @ 20 hrs per week for a 40 week Programme up until 31st March 2015.

The individual appointment must have a sound understanding of issues in relation to innocent victims/survivors and of on-going developments within the sector.  It is also crucial that the individual appointed can demonstrate empathy for the constituency to which they are required to service.

The position will involve the appointed person being based in an office somewhere in the North West Region of Northern Ireland.  There will also be travel involved with this role in reaching out to victims/survivors located throughout the North West Region.

J.I.V.T Ltd also employs a Development Manager and an Advocacy worker who the appointed person will work closely with throughout the delivery of the Contract.

 

Who are J.I.V.T Ltd?

J.I.V.T Ltd was formed in May 2009 to provide advocacy and representation-based support for those who are innocent victims and survivors of terrorism as a result of the ‘Troubles.’

The group is comprised of a broad range of representatives from victim/survivor groups and other affected individuals from across the length and breadth of Northern Ireland.

To provide advocacy and representation-based support for those who are innocent victims of terrorism and to empower such affected individuals to move forward with their lives safe in the knowledge that their trauma is recognised and that steps are being taken to address the underlying causes of their pain and suffering.

Other related Projects:

J.I.V.T Ltd has also secured funding via the Peace III Programme. The 'Pathways to Justice Project' was awarded funding which has saw the recruitment of a Case Manager, Case Officer and Finance and Administration Manager to lead up a Project which principally provides support to those engaged with Truth and Justice recovery processes.

A snap-shot of the work to be undertook in respect of this Contract:

  1. The role involves a varied range of general office administration related duties such as filing, drafting letters, producing flyers and posters, telephone work, photocopying, scanning and sending emails.
  2. Responsibility for delivering a range of services and activities funded via the Victims and Survivors Service spanning the following areas; Health and Wellbeing, Social Support, Truth Justice and Truth, Justice and Acknowledgement (see Workplan enclosed)
  3. In partnership with the Development Manager, procure a range of services and activities as per the Programme funded via the Victims and Survivors Service.
  4. Facilitating meetings and organising consultation sessions with existing members and also other victims/survivors yet to join the organisation.
  5. Developing the PR of the group in partnership with the Management committee.
  6. Putting in place a robust Monitoring and Evaluation framework. (being cognisant of existing VSS requirements)
  7. Attendance at monthly Management Board meetings and producing update reports.
  8. Contribute to the production of a bi-monthly organisational newsletter which will be sent to all group members as well as updating J.I.V.T Ltd’s website and Facebook page.
  9. Promote and facilitate take up of VSS Individual Need Support schemes for victims/survivors located in theNorth West.
  10. Work collaboratively with other organisations in ensuring that victims/survivors wider needs are fully catered for.

Justice for Innocent Victims of Terrorism Limited (J.I.V.T Ltd) invites suitably qualified and experienced individuals to submit a tailored CV plus a Tender response highlighting their interest and suitability to carry out the role as advertised.

There is a maximum of £15 per hour available for the provision of Sessional Projects worker and a travel allowance of circa £1,200 available for the duration of the Contract (paid at £0.40p per mile)

The Tender proposal should also set out the hours when you would propose to carry out the 20 hours per week Contract.

The total cost available for this assignment is £12,000 p/annum inclusive of VAT. The successful tender respondent will be responsible for paying his/her own HMRC contributions.
