Ulster Wildlife is seeking to recruit an experienced conservation professional who will be responsible for developing conservation action plans for selected Natura sites, with a focus on Cuilcagh Mountain SAC,and co-ordinating on-ground restoration works.

The Collaborative Action for the Natura Network project is supported by the European Union’s INTERREG VA Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.

Ulster Wildlife is seeking to recruit an experienced conservation professional who will be responsible for developing conservation action plans for selected Natura sites, with a focus on Cuilcagh Mountain SAC and co-ordinating on-ground restoration works to improve the conservation status of the site over the lifecycle of this project.

Ulster Wildlife is one of 11 partners which make up the Collaborative Action for the Natura
Network (CANN) with Newry, Mourne and Down District Council as the lead partner. The consortium has been successful in obtaining EU funding through INTERREG VA for a programme of works that will be delivered across Northern Ireland, Ireland and Western Scotland.

 

The successful candidate will have experience of developing site management plans and in engaging with landowners to achieve conservation objectives.

Role:                          SENIOR TECHNICAL OFFICER
                                                           

Location:                   Located in Marble Arch Caves Geopark, 43 Marlbank Rd, Legnabrocky, Florencecourt, Co Fermanagh, BT92 1EW

                                   There will be regular travel across Northern Ireland and occasional travel throughout the UK and Ireland.

Contract:                    Fixed term to 31 October 2021.

Salary:                        £26,655 - £28,097 per annum. Access to employer’s contributory pension scheme to a maximum of 7% per annum.

Hours:                        Full time post (37.5 hours per week)

The current post is based in Fermanagh however if similar vacancies arise during the next 9 months within the Ulster Wildlife Interreg project delivery team at a Senior Technical Officer level, this recruitment process may be used to fill the vacancies.
