Thorndale Family Centre is part of the Salvation Army's Social Services Programme. We are recruiting for Relief Concierge, Nights. Relief work is as and when required, incl. Bank Holidays and weekends. £7.30 per hour + an additional 10% night premium.

Thorndale Family Centre has 38 self-contained Family Units across two programmes of care, with a maximum capacity of 125 persons.  The two programmes of care are the Parenting Assessment Programme and the Supported Housing/Resettlement Programme.  In addition to these programmes, there is a registered pre-school playgroup on site, providing an integrated early years’ facility for children.  Through the provision of a range of assessment, educative and support services, we aim to protect children and empower families to remain together when possible and where appropriate, and to overcome the barriers they face, achieve their aspirations and move on towards independent community family living.  

Job Summary: The Concierge worker will often be the first point of contact for everyone accessing the centre and is pivotal in ensuring our vision for high quality outcome focused support services is delivered.  

Key Responsibilities: The Concierge worker will manage front of house services to clients and will deal with telephone calls and external visitors to the centre.  The successful applicant will have an ability to keep all relevant records and be responsible for completing regular building checks and patrols as required, and ensuring security of buildings.

Essential qualifications/experience etc:  GCSEs including Maths & English or equivalent.  Knowledge of legislation in relation to Health and Safety and the safeguarding of service users and staff.  Excellent customer service skills and proficient in a range of IT packages (Microsoft Office).  Successful candidates will be able to work within the Christian ethos.
