Relentless Youth Worker - Participation Development Project (PDP) Fixed term to 30th September 2020

The Relentless Youth Worker will be required to:

1.1         Liaise closely with a strategic project steering group and attend regular meetings, providing updates and reports.

1.2         Take the lead engaging with a range of groups and communities across communities, which will also involve a marketing & publicity / recruitment strategy for project participants.

1.3         Establish 8 Youth Forums across communities that will participate in bespoke training, promoting the voice of young people.

1.4         Establish ‘Youth Champions’ across communities to include the facilitation of accredited training.

1.5         Support programme participants to lobby & campaign on specific issues and identify a number of pledges.

1.6         Support North/South and cross-border opportunities and engagements.

1.7         Host a ‘Youthfest’ project celebration event.

1.8         Adopt our ‘Relentless Youth Work’ approach and establish transformational relationships with project participants across a range of geographical locations; supporting them to engage in the core elements of the project.

1.9         Liaise directly with NIYF Head of Operations & Office Manager ensuring the management of project budgets.

1.10      Responsible for planning, designing and facilitating developmental group work sessions to include personal & social development; good relations and citizenship.

1.11      Responsible for planning, designing and facilitating bespoke training.

1.12      Ensure that all engagements with participants are young person centred, consistent & reliable, treating all young people equally & with dignity & respect. 

1.13      Do what it takes in a relentless (and appropriate) fashion to ‘walk beside’ a young person and build a strong transformational relationship that will help young people participate in meaningful, purposeful & sustained programmes.   

1.14      Ensure that project participants participate in celebration and closure events that will review, evaluate and celebrate the learning for further progression.

1.15      Undertake baseline assessments of participants to measure distance travelled, developing individual development plans based on identified need, against project outcomes.
