Project Worker - Harm Reduction - Foyle Haven Day Centre (6 months Fixed Term)

Our aim is to work with those who are socially excluded and marginalised by providing a quality led service in order to produce the best possible outcomes for those accessing our services. We work in partnership with central and local government, housing associations and other non-governmental organisations.

Project Worker –Harm Reduction- Day Centre – HSS16/12

Fixed Term –for 6 months

Location: L’Derry/Derry

35hrs per week

Salary: 16,230 (pro rata per annum)

Location: Foyle Haven is a comprehensive and integrated service providing assistance and support to street drinkers. Each service user is encouraged to make use of all the relevant services and to participate in social activities within the centre.  The day centre provides practical assistance including hot meals, access to showers and laundry facilities and a programme of regular social activities.

As part of the centre based team, the successful candidate will enable the Foyle Haven project to offer a comprehensive service to an increasing number of street drinkers. Applicants should have one year’s paid (full-time equivalent) or two years voluntary experience (Full-time equivalent) of working in the Community Development/Voluntary sector and hold a Certificate/Diploma or equivalent in a Community, Health or Social Science based subject.
