Project Worker - Assisting People and Communities (APAC)

The post holder will provide direct support to vulnerable adults in agreed projects and will work to develop appropriate opportunities for individual progression and specialist intervention.
The role will be to mentor, motivate, support and advocate on behalf of those referred to the project and will involve supporting access to other agencies, services and training as required.
Essential Criteria
- At least one year’s experience of working in the community with vulnerable adults, people who have came to the attention of the Police and people who have experienced social/economic disadvantage or social exclusion.
- A third level qualification (NVQ 3 / 4 or equivalent) in a relevant discipline e.g. Social Work, Community Safety, Youth and Community Work, Criminal Justice.
- Experience of carrying out needs assessments and managing plans of intervention to support integration.
- Access to transport to enable the postholder to carry out the requirements of the job.
Hours: 35hr pw – some flexibility of hours/days of work my be required.
Location: Derry/L'Derry
Duration: Maternity Cover 6 months commencing September 2017
