The Practice Leader will mentor and supervise the Support Team and will work on the  rota on an as required basis that includes unsocial hours and weekends

 

 

The Cedar Foundation is seeking to recruit the following staff members:

 

Practice Leaders (SSW)                                            REF: 17/120/PL-WB/WEB

 

As part of the Living Options services, the Practice Leader will enable clients who have learning / physical disabilities and associated conditions, to pursue a valued lifestyle by supporting them with personal care as well as with social, emotional, spiritual and daily activity needs.

The Practice Leader will mentor and supervise the Support Team and will work on the  rota on an as required basis that includes unsocial hours and weekends..

The Practice Leaders will ensure their own actions and behaviour complies with Cedar’s policy and procedures as well as statutory regulations and quality standards.

 

Hours:                         30 hours per week plus sleep in duties.

Contract:                    Permanent

Location:                    Living Options Services in Belfast

Salary:                        3 point scale commencing on £9.40 per hour

 

Essential:

  • A minimum of GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • NVQ 3 (Health & Social Care) or equivalent or willing to attain a Level 3 QCF qualification.
  • Car driver with access to car and full valid driving licence on application

or can demonstrate how they would travel across services.

  • Registered or applying for registration with the N. Ireland Social Care Council
  • ( NMC if nurse qualified)
  • Can demonstrate previous experience of supporting people with learning disabilities.
  • Demonstrable evidence of 1 years experience working with people in a care/ support capacity within the last 2 years.
  • Flexibility to work on a rota basis that requires sleep over duties.
  • Experience of working in partnership with service users, parents, health care professionals, carers, advocates and other agencies.
  • Good working knowledge of IT, specifically Microsoft Word & Outlook.

 

Desirable:

 

  • QCF5 Health & Social Care
  • Experience of working in a Supported Living environment
  • Experience of supervising staff and co-ordinating provision of support and personal care.
  • Can demonstrate previous experience of supporting people who have displayed behaviours that significantly challenge.
  • Can demonstrate previous experience of working in a Supported Living context.
