We are looking for positive, friendly, outgoing, customer focused individuals to join our team on both a full-time and part-time basis, which will include weekends.

Our main aim is to give our customers a fun and memorable experience at Roar and Explore.

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to run, manage and develop Roar and Explore.  This person will be responsible for the day to day management of this attraction including all finances, play equipment safety, staff management, café operation, stock management and ensuring the best customer experience possible.

Job Title Play Centre Manager

Reporting to Business Services Manager

Hours of Work 40 hours per week

Location Roar & Explore, Dairy Farm Shopping Centre, Stewartstown Road, Belfast

Job Purpose

The Centre Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of the centre including all finances, play equipment safety, staff management, café operation, stock management and ensuring the best customer experience possible.

The Play Centre Manager’s responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the soft play facility and ensuring it is run smoothly on a day to day basis
  • Co-ordinating children’s parties and assist with the catering provision.
  • Understanding the Centre’s Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP).
  • Ensuring that all operational and health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Developing and maintaining good public relations with customers and encouraging a good relationship between staff and customers. 
  • Dealing with customer complaints with tact and diplomacy
  • Complying with health and safety policies, organisational statements and procedures
  • Delivering  excellent customer service by setting standards for other staff, dealing efficiently and professionally with complaints and display excellent knowledge of the organisation as a whole and our policies and procedures
  • Manage, training and developing the team
  • Planning rotas for all staff members
  • Controlling payroll- ensuring no unnecessary hours are worked
  • Taking responsibility for stock management and café operation
  • Taking responsibility for business finances and business banking
  • Developing the business with new refreshing ideas

Personal Specifications

Essential Criteria

Experience:

  • Proven  management experience in a customer facing environment
  • Proven experience of managing and motivating a staff team
  • Experience of business development
  • Experience of budgeting and planning
  • Experience of managing and handling money

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a range of people both in writing and verbally.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Proven proficiency in MS Office particularly Word and Excel and point of sale till systems
  • Experience of  Health and Safety in the workplace
  • Experience of managing and resolving conflicts and complaints
  • Experience of producing reports and accounts and presenting these to a management board
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Access NI Check

Desirable Criteria

  • 2 years proven management experience in a leisure, hospitality or retail environment
  • First Aid qualification
  • Basic food and hygiene certificate
