Salary:                        National Living Wage

Hours of work:           30 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday.                                           Flexible working including evenings will be                                         required

Benefits:                     32 days per annum (pro rata) paid holiday                                         (including public holidays)

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Belfast Exposed’s Outreach and Engagement Department and make a vital contribution to this long established photography organisation as part of a dynamic and committed team. With an ability to thrive in a fast paced and demanding working environment, the successful candidate will work with the Outreach and Engagement Team to provide logistical, administrative and technical support to the organisation’s outreach and engagement programmes, helping to build wider community and public interest in our work as well as providing administrative support to staff. The right candidate for this job will be someone who seeks to build a career in arts/community arts management, development and administration. 

Primary Tasks Involve 

  • Assisting the Outreach and Engagement Team in realising Belfast Exposed’s outreach and public participation programmes
  • Assist with the day-to-day running of the Outreach and Engagement Programme
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the teams function

Main Duties

  • Provide administrative support to Outreach and Engagement Team
  • Assist in all public participation activities, talks and events within the building
  • Assist in all outreach work remotely as required
  • Assist with documentation of all activities
  • Support the general functions of the Belfast Exposed office to receive and respond to calls, deliveries and enquiries
  • Assist with general housekeeping of the organisation
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably required within the remit of this role 

Person Specification

  • Graduated from a BA Photography programme or HND within the past two years
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm for contemporary photography and the work of Belfast Exposed
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage one’s time to handle a diverse workload
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of working with Community Groups or Schools
  • Experience using standard word processing and spreadsheet computer packages
  • Proficient in taking photographs for press / PR purposes and basic image editing skills using Photoshop & Lightroom
  • Experience working with the public and understanding of visitor experience and customer care
  • Experience working as part of a team
