As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of operational excellence are delivered throughout our organisation.

Duties will include but not be restricted to:

  • Provide crucial leadership to the team and develop effective strategies, plans and policies to aid our future growth and direction.
  • Working alongside the Chief Officer, you will implement effective operational plans across the organisation and ensure that the uppermost standards of practice are adhered to.
  • Liaising with social workers, parents and carers, you will oversee the recruitment of trainees and manage the performance of all teams.
  • Continuously strive for operational improvement to ensure that the organisation is running in the most efficient and effective way.
  • Overseeing the financial management of the organisation 
  • Effectively communicating with stakeholders
  • Building and protecting our reputation


Essential Criteria:

  • At least five years’ experience of managing a team of at least 20 people within the voluntary, public or private sector
  • A proven track record of managing an organisation budget and turnover greater than £500,000
  • Experience of working in partnership or collaboration in the delivery of services
  • Relevant experience of implementing new processes and procedures
  • An understanding of the value of social enterprise and services for people with learning disabilities
  • A degree in a relevant business discipline

Desirable Criteria:

  • Possess excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills with the enthusiasm and drive to manage and motivate a team.
  • Be passionate and adaptable, 
  • Customer-focused, decisive and flexible in your approach.
  • Have an understanding of learning disability services 
  • Knowledge of the Investors in People quality standard
  • A working knowledge of EFQM framework
  • Experience of sourcing funding
