The Operations Manager position is a key role within Stepping Stones NI with the successful candidate forming part of the senior management team and working closely with the Chief Officer to drive the organisation towards continuous improvement, achievement of ESF targets and ensure the future success delivering quality services for its trainees and clients.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and skilled individual with experience in leading organisational performance matched with a passion for the mission of our organisation.

The successful candidate must meet the following essential criteria:

  • 3 years' experience of managing operations of a small or medium charitable organisation and or social enterprise.
  • Significant experience of successfully building, leading and working with multiple teams, including setting objectives and managing performance.
  • Demonstrable experience of overseeing quality and performance improvement models for organisational success including ISO and Investors in People.
  • Proficient in the use of databases and information management systems for reporting.
  • Financially astute and analytical with a proven track record of interpreting organisational budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Experience and knowledge of social enterprise and charity structures.
  • Excperience and knowledge of Human Resource Management.
  • Track record of driving change, fostering a culture of ideas and innovation and instilling new thinking amongst colleagues.
  • Exceptional communications, interpersonal and consultative skills and the proven ability to build relationships, securing buy-in and building cresibility.
  • Ability to prioritise and deliver high quality work with minimum supervision; able to multi-task under pressure and bring people with you on key decisions.
  • Exceptional problem solving skills.
  • Exceptional people management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Desirable criteria:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of ETI.
  • Understanding of the challenges and needs of people with a learning disability and learning difficulty.
  • Previous experience in working in catering.

This post is fixed-term to March 2018 with extension subject to funding.
