We are the leading UK charity fighting muscle-wasting conditions. We are dedicated to beating muscular dystrophy and related neuromuscular conditions by finding treatments and cures and to improving the lives of everyone affected by them.

Main Purpose of Job:

1. Support people living with neuromuscular conditions by attending, where possible muscle centres and clinics, and run regional drop in surgeries to share information and advice
2. Arrange information days, road shows and meetings with relevant stakeholders to ensure knowledge of neuromuscular conditions is improved and gaps in services highlighted;
3. Attend and contribute to the Specialist Commissioning Forum and Neuromuscular Clinical Network; membership will include patients, local and regional commissioners, as well as health professionals
4. Manage and grow local ‘Muscle Groups’, and similar support groups, engaging and supporting adults living with muscle wasting conditions;
5. Work closely with neuromuscular health professionals and commissioners in order to ensure the relevant patient pathway is followed
6. Gather and present data regarding strengths of local and regional services; such as muscle clinics, hydrotherapy pools and community teams
7. Assist and support the development of the Northern Ireland council as a pro-active
steering and support group
8. To manage, develop and grow a network of local fundraising groups and individual supporters to support their fundraising activities and deliver a high quality supporter journey
9. Work pro-actively to demonstrate our local impact by developing and using key messages.
