As Information Officer you’ll be responsible for co-ordinating a varied programme of outreach information activities as part of the new “UK Hear to Inform and Connect” project.

This is a three-year project across London and South East England, Northern Ireland and Scotland which is aiming to support older people to better manage their hearing loss, through face-to-face community information services delivered by volunteers.

The Northern Ireland information service provides practical information about hearing loss to people who are deaf, hard of hearing or have tinnitus, to their friends and family, as well as to community groups and professionals who support people with hearing loss.

In this diverse role, you’ll be required to deliver information stands and to attend and give presentations to local organisations. You will also attend meetings in the community, as well as with internal and other external partners, to develop local networks and ensure successful delivery of the information service. A key element of the role will also involve managing the team of information volunteers, ensuring they are developed, trained and motivated to provide high quality outreach information services.

We are looking for a candidate who has experience of managing and/or working with volunteers along with excellent organisation and communication skills and a genuine interest in working with people who are deaf, hard of hearing or who have tinnitus.

This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
