Location: Belfast

Salary: 12,409.20 actual per annum

Hours: 21 per week, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday

Contract type: Permanent

Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. Dementia affects over 800,000 people in the UK alone and numbers continue to grow.

Our National Dementia Helpline responds to around 27,000 telephone, email, web chat and letter enquiries every year, and demand is growing. Our Helpline Advisers provide information, advice and emotional support to people who contact the Society’s Helpline service. We are looking for two new Helpline Advisers to join our team.

You will have direct experience and knowledge of working in a helpline service and an understanding of relevant social policy, welfare rights, health and social care issues that affect people living with dementia.

You will have well developed written communication skills with substantial experience of responding to helpline emails.

Applicants must possess a degree and excellent written and spoken English skills. You will be self-motivated, able to work well under pressure and a good team player. Above all, you must have a real commitment to providing a high quality information and support service to people affected by dementia.
