Health Professional Enagement Facilitator

We are looking for an engaging individual with significant experience working in primary care who can help us to improve cancer outcomes and save more lives.

Cancer Research UK, the Health and Social Care Board of Northern Ireland and 2 HSC Trusts (Belfast and South Eastern Trusts) are partnering to improve the prevention and earlier diagnosis of cancer. Our Facilitator Programme provides facilitators to work with a range of health professionals in identified local HSC Trust areas across the cancer pathway to raise the profile of cancer, identify activities to improve cancer outcomes and make change happen at a local level. Each Facilitator has a tailored workplan that has been developed in partnership to address local priorities.

 

What will I be doing?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Professional Engagement Facilitator to join our newly created team in Northern Ireland (Belfast HSC Trust) to…

  • Build effective relationships with and engage GP practices within the locality to raise the awareness of the importance of early detection and screening (within a defined workplan)
  • Develop, plan and co-ordinate learning events for primary care professionals
  • Lead and co-ordinate practice improvement projects
  • Work closely with health professionals from primary & secondary care organisations to effect improvements in communication, service delivery and patient experience across the cancer pathway

  • Experience of partnering with a range of stakeholders to influence and develop sustainable change
  • Experience of working with GPs
  • Strong understanding of primary care and health service environments
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills

 

As the role is field based, you’ll also need to have tenacity and be comfortable working on your own as well as part of a team.
