Garvagh People’s Forest Development Officer

To support the management and delivery of the Garvagh People’s Forest project to include developing programmes of work and activity, assisting with event organisation, supporting the evaluation research, and communication with key stakeholders

Garvagh Development Trust is looking for a Development Officer to support the management and delivery of the Garvagh People’s Forest project. The project aims to:

 

  • ·         Develop and deliver a Forest School and an annual skills/learning based programme.
  • ·         Develop the forest as a place of health & well-being.
  • ·         Organise community events and grow relationships between statutory bodies who have an interest in the forest.

 

Main duties will include developing programmes of work and activity, assisting with event organisation, supporting the evaluation research, and communication with key stakeholders.

 

Essential criteria include the following

  • At least two year direct experience of engaging local communities, individuals and groups of volunteers to get involved in similar programmes of work.
  • At least two years direct experience in project co-ordination and administration. 
  • Experience in working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. 
  • Experience of writing successful funding applications in excess of £25,000.
  • Educated to degree level.
