The ideal candidate will be part of a central based team which enables the project to continue to offer a comprehensive service to an increasing number of street Drinkers.

Candidates must possess a certificate/diploma in community, Health or Social Science based subject and have 2 year’s full time (part time equivalent) experience of working in the area of community development/voluntary sector in a paid, or voluntary capacity. Applicants should have access to a means of transport to meet the requirements of this post.

DUTIES

 

1.1     To provide a harm reduction floating support service to individuals at risk of homelessness residing in their own tenancies.

 

1.2     To arrive at client centred support plans which utilise recognised harm reduction methods of practice.

 

1.3     To offer advice and practical support across a range of issues including Housing, Health, Safety, Addictions and Benefits.

 

1.4     To develop and maintain Support Plans based on the assessment of needs with agreed outcomes that are measured and reviewed regularly.

 

1.5     To provide accurate records including statistical information when required by the manager.

 

1.6     To produce written reports as required.

 

1.7     To avail of appropriate training as identified by Depaul.

 

1.8     To work within the protocols of - Depaul at all times.

 

1.9     To ensure confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.

 

1.10   To work within the organisations policies and procedures, both at a local and central level.

 

1.11   Ensure your own Health & Safety and the Health & Safety of those who may be affected by your own acts or omissions at work.

 

1.12   To liaise with relevant statutory and voluntary agencies.

 

1.13   Any other duties that commensurate with your role as required by the Manager

 

1.14   To liaise with agencies using recognised protocols and procedure as part of the NIHE’s Derry/Londonderry city rough sleepers and street drinker’s strategy.
