The postholder will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of financial payments and will provide first line advice to managers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

    • Invoice processing and payment

 

    • Processing staff and volunteer expenses including the management of an audit process

 

    • Processing the monthly payroll in conjunction with the HR department including HRMC, pension and childcare voucher payments

 

    • Weekly and monthly reconciliations including bank, credit card and mobile phone bills

 

    • Manage the organisation-wide petty cash system including top ups, reconciliation and audit process

 

    • Resolving queries and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders whilst ensuring that financial policies and procedures are adhered to

 

    • Developing and communicating procedures which ensure consistency across a range of systems including Purchase Orders

 

    • Full compliance with all financial, HR and other corporate responsibilities as appropriate to the post

 

    • Ensure that all Victim Support NI policies, particularly those relating to Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities are applied

Qualifications:

 

  1. Either “A” level standard with minimum 2 years’ experience of working in a Finance function 

    Or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Finance function

     

  2. IATI qualification or part-qualified

     

    Skills and Experience

                                                               

  3. A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a finance function to include:

    • Preparation and maintenance of a nominal ledger
    • Reconciliation of complex, key control accounts
    • Payroll processing

 

  1. Proven ability to manipulate data to produce meaningful information

     

  2. Proven analytical & numerical skills

     

  3. Proven ability to manage a range of competing priorities and to work to deadlines

     

  4. Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages, in particular Excel
