Christian Aid Ireland is an international aid and development agency, working with local partners in over 40 countries worldwide - our vision is to end poverty. We are looking for a Finance and Administrative Assistant who can help us make a difference.

Based in the Belfast Finance team, this role supports the Finance and Church & Community Teams in the following areas of supporter services: supporter enquiries, opening and processing of incoming and outgoing post in accordance with existing procedures and the banking of income, ensuring that an excellent level of service is provided to Christian Aid’s supporters who are making donations. The role holder will take responsibility for ensuring that donations are recorded and thanked promptly and professionally and that supporters' details and wishes are accurately recorded on Christian Aid’s supporter database.  The post holder will be expected to handle telephone enquiries for all staff members in Belfast and to ensure that the phones and reception are covered during office hours. The role reports to the Accountant and works closely with both the Finance Team and the Church & Community Team.  This role will interact with approximately 12 staff and volunteers in the Belfast office as part of their reception and general office duties.

About you

The following is essential:

    • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent including Maths and English.
    • Administrative experience in a customer/supporter care environment.
    • Experience communicating with supporters whether face-to-face or by telephone, email and letter.
    • Excellent MS Office especially excel, high level of computer literacy and numeracy skills.
    • Experience of data entry skills and maintaining of records.
    • Access to a car.

The following is desirable:

    • Experience working within the Charitable sector
    • Relevant experience of working with a customer or supporter database system.
