We are recruiting a Finance & Admin Officer and this post is initially a one year term postition from 01.04.2017 - 31.03.2018 and then is subject to continued Supporting People funding.

Finance & Admin Officer - 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

Salary: £20,500 per annum (negotiable, depending on experience of candidate)

Location: Bangor

KEY RESPONSBILITIES – To provide an efficient and effective financial & administrative support

Responsibility for the finance and accounting function of North Down and Ards Women’s Aid including:

  • Provision of a professional meet and greet / reception service as required, including answering phone calls from women in distress and providing initial support for in-person callers to the Centre
  • Provision of regular support/covering staffing requirements in Refuge as required – there are occasions when this post holder will have to attend to the refuge to manage financial procedures resulting in direct contact with Refuge clients
  • Day to day bookkeeping and associated administration
  • Approval for invoices and allocation against budget
  • Managing over and under payments
  • Ownership of funder claims, including preparation of claims, monitoring, follow-up, as required
  • Preparation of management accounts, including overseeing annual accounts
  • Management and monitoring of budgets.
  • Preparation of cash flow forecasts and management of day to day cash flow.
  • Administration of staff payroll, including expenses and all related returns aligned with legislative requirements and internal procedures e.g. RTI, PAYE/NIC, P35, P60, etc
  • Liaising with external accountants
  • Liaising with the bank on queries and resolution of same
  • Coordination of monthly reports for Chief Executive Officer and other reports as required, including preparation for AGM

 

Responsibility for general office issues including:

  • Company Secretary (Companies House reporting)
  • Human Resources matters, including Access NI checks (or any replacement process), recruitment administration, etc
  • Facilities management and maintenance, including compliance with Health and Safety legislation and procedures, Access NI checks (or any replacement process)
  • To comply with Health & Safety and Data Protection regulations.
    • To work within all NDAWA’s policies and procedures.
    • Attend relevant in-service training as appropriate.
    • To undertake any other appropriate duties that contributes to the achievement and function of this post.

    Essential criteria

    1. At least 2 years’ recent experience of providing financial and administrative support in an office environment and knowledge of office procedures.
    2. Demonstrated competence with a computerised accounting package
    3. Demonstrated knowledge of Payroll and associated reporting.
    4. Proven skills in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel (inc formulas), Publisher and PowerPoint.
    5. GCSE Mathematics grade A –C (or equivalent).
    6. GCSE English grade A – C (or equivalent).
    7. IT qualification – RSA 2, GCSE, A Level or equivalent
