To connect and link with referred survivors with an acquired brain injury and their family members to establish their individual needs. To organise, plan, co-ordinate and deliver activities and social support for our survivor and carer groups.
  • Carry out home visits to meet with the families carers and survivors across the Trust area including those who attend Head Injury Support’s centre in Newry

  • Research, plan, develop and deliver a continuous programme of arts, crafts and other activity workshops based on service user interests and learning to date, in conjunction with HIS Newry centre’s Art’s and Activities Officer

  • Provide practical assistance and the appropriate level of support and guidance to survivors who attend the groups to promote their engagement in crafts and other activities

  • Research, plan and lead safe groups outings for carers and separate social outings for survivors

  • Maintain records as required including feedback from survivors and carers and liase with the manager to address any areas of focus

  • Support the SDM in the monitoring the programme outcomes and targets

  • Work with the SDM in raising awareness and the profile of the HIS Outreach Service through highlighting good news stories through local media eg. papers and radio
