Action for Children does what's right, does what's needed and does what works for children in the UK. Every year, our team changes the lives of 390,000 children, young people and families. 

The Northern Ireland Regional Young Carers Service is a vital part of our work supporting young people with a significant caring role. As a Family Support Practitioner you'll be completing an assessment, devising a support plan and implementing it through activities, group work and 1-1 support.  

How you'll make a difference:

By assessing the needs of young carers and identifying support

By delivering short break activities and group work programmes

By providing 1-1 therapeutic support

By raising awareness of young carers in the wider community

What you'll need:

NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, child-care, youth work or equivalent

Minimum of 2 years working with children or young people

Driving licence, access to vehicle with business insurance

While this post is based in the Belfast office casework will cover the Belfast, South Eastern and Southern Trusts
