Purpose of Role
To work as part of the Ely Centre Psychological and Counselling Team providing Trauma Focused EMDR Therapy to Victims and Survivors and Security Force Veterans. This could involve work across all age ranges across Northern Ireland
Principle duties of the post
To provide EMDR Therapy to referred clients (step 2 – 4)
To implement individualised collaborative case conceptualisation and therapeutic service plan conducive to client need
To ensure that clients receive prompt and professional communication at all times
To maintain files, case notes etc in adherence with organisational policies on data protection
To complete pre, during and post evaluative assessment (CORE) and appropriate additional psychometric testing.
To work to a professional code of ethics and practice appropriate to relevant professional body (BACP/IACP/EMDR UK and Ireland)
Essential criteria
Accredited with a professional body BACP/IACP/EMDR UK and Ireland or actively working towards accreditation and can provide evidence of same
Degree level educated or above in a relevant subject (such as counselling, psychology or an allied health profession)
Successfully completed EMDR part 1 training and have a training date to complete EMDR part 2 training in the next 6 months
Currently receiving regular clinical supervision with an approved EMDR Supervisor
Minimum of 2 yrs supervised experience post qualification (300 hrs +) of delivering therapy for organisations and individuals in a trauma related area.
Full access to a mode of transport suitable to the requirements of the post
Desirable criteria
Successfully completed EMDR part 2 training
