Job Summary:
For services which accommodate clients who require catering facilities the role of catering staff is essential. The Cook has a vital role to play and you will work with the catering team to ensure that the service meets all contractual and legislative requirements, especially in respect of health and safety regulations. The food presented will be appetising and nutritional whilst recognising standards and cost.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all equipment and machinery in the catering facility is maintained at a safe and serviceable level
• Ensure current health and safety and environmental health and hygiene standards and other appropriate regulations and procedures are maintained, (e.g. BFH / COSHH)
• Prepare, cook and present food to recognised standards and costs
• Plan menus with the Service Manager as appropriate to the service, taking into account any special requirements, the need for choice and service users opinion
• Ensure examples of the meals and beverages available are displayed together with their prices
• Oversee the work of the catering support staff and ensure training is provided where necessary
• The Cook will complete any other duties as could be reasonably expected in the fulfilment of this role.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
Food and Hygiene Certificate, Relevant qualification in Food preparation cooking catering NVQ lev 2 or equivalent
