Cook (Part-time) – Stella Maris, Belfast

Permanent Contract

Salary: £7.99 per hour

Hours: up to 16hrs per week

Location: The Stella Maris Service operates on a rota basis, including Saturdays and Sundays.  This is a low threshold project working with people who have a long history of street drinking and homelessness, some of whom do not wish to cease drinking. The project delivers services based on the principles of harm reduction. The Part Time Cook will have responsibility for the purchase, storage, preparation and cooking of main meals and nutritious snacks. They will also be responsible for leaving the kitchen and cooking areas clean and ready for use and also for developing a variety of menus aimed at improving the health of the service users.

We are looking for an individual who is committed to providing high quality sustenance to our vulnerable client group. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who has at least one year’s previous catering experience, City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ Level 2 Catering as well as a level 2 award in Food Safety in Catering.
