To prepare and serve nutritiously balanced meals. To ensure the efficient, hygienic and safe use of the kitchen equipment, and to supervise other staff in the kitchen. To help promote resident participation in the life of the home.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 1 years' experience in food preparation

  • Knowledge of COSHH, HACCP, Health and Safety

  • Knowledge of dietary requirements for the elderly and an understanding of elderly needs

  • QCF Level 2 in Food Preparation and Cooking or equivalent qualification e.g. City and Guilds 705, 706/2
