Community Engagement Officer

As a community engagement officer you will develop and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders, including professionals and volunteers in organisations across the sector, develop a mutual understanding of service provision and opportunities for collaboration.
You will be actively raising the profile of Guide Dogs, promoting our services and campaigns and representing the views of people who are blind and partially sighted in a wide range of media including internal and external formats.

Within this role you will be responsible for;
•    Delivering general information visits to new customers providing advice and support to enable the customer to understand and select appropriate Guide Dog services specific to the individual’s needs.
•    Delivering and allocation of general information visits to be organised inline with mobility team priorities and demographics.
•    Generating customer enquiry levels for all services across the Mobility Team area, in line with local management plans, objectives and Guide Dogs national strategy, by promoting our services to local and national organisations.

Key Requirements for this role include;
•    Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully both verbally and in writing.
•    Ability to deal with people at all levels. Able to plan, prioritise and self-monitor activity with limited support from line manager. Confident in speaking to groups.
•    Experience of closely working with or in a capacity to deliver services to blind and partially sighted people.
•    Eligibility to work in the UK
