AANI have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Chief Executive to establish, shape and aim to be the most successful and respected charity in Northern Ireland.

Air Ambulance Northern Ireland is a registered charity set up to establish a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service in Northern Ireland which could save up to 50 lives a year and may improve outcomes of up to 300 patients.  Northern Ireland, with a population of 1.8m people in a region which covers 14,000sq kilometres with a unique coastal and geographical environment is the only region in the UK and Ireland not serviced by an air ambulance.

AANI have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Chief Executive to establish, shape and aim to be the most successful and respected charity in Northern Ireland.  The successful candidate will have a passion for strong strategic leadership and will be the external representative of the organisation holding key relationships with stakeholders including the media, political and donors.

  

Working with the Chair, Trustees, staff and volunteers, the Chief Executive will develop a long term commercial development strategy that will deliver high levels of performance and ensures a strong and sustainable financial future. The successful candidate must have at least 5 years’ relevant senior management experience, leading an organisation/department in a charitable or similar organisation, with an excellent track record in the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans.  You will have created a high performing culture and can demonstrate considerable competence in securing funding from a range of public and private sources, while ensuring effective governance. Through your career you will have engaged with a diverse range of stakeholders including corporate business representatives, delivery partners, funding bodies and government officials.  Practical experience in negotiating complex contracts/legal agreements and monitoring supplier performance is desirable.
