The post requires an experienced individual with an in depth understanding of Community Development and who can efficiently manage the physical, financial and human resources of the organisation as well as represent Hillcrest with maturity and integrity.

Main Purpose of the Job

To provide strong strategic and operational leadership to Hillcrest Trust, as it embraces major transformation. The successful applicant will require vision, energy and a passion for community development combined with excellent communication and negotiation skills.  The post requires an experienced individual with an in-depth understanding of community development who can efficiently manage the physical, financial and human resources of the organisation and represent Hillcrest with maturity and integrity.

  1. Qualification and Experience

 

Five years’ experience in a paid capacity of working at a senior level within community development or equivalent field.

OR

 A third level professional qualification in a relevant field alongside a proven track record of at least 3 years paid experience of working in the field of community development at a senior level.

Working with and reporting to a Board of Directors (tested at interview)

 

Experience & Knowledge


  1. Srategic and operational planning, implementation and review.

 

  1. Management of a multi-faceted organisation including responsibility for physical assets and staffing.

 

  1. Financial Management

 

  1. Programme development, delivery monitoring/evaluation

 

  1. Knowledge and experience of income generation in a community setting.

 

  1. Computer literacy: proficient in MS office packages.

 

  1. Strong verbal, written and presentational communication skills. (Tested at application/interview)
