The Centre for Global Education invites applications for an internship (March-December 2017) that will involve supporting publication of our peer-reviewed, open access journal Policy and Practice: A Development Education Review.

The Centre for Global Education invites applications for an internship starting in March 2017 that will involve supporting publication of our peer-reviewed, open access journal Policy and Practice: A Development Education Review. Now in its 11th year of publication, Policy and Practice aims to widen understanding of the delivery and effectiveness of development education at local and international levels. It aims to share good practice and analyse the policy environment in which development education practitioners operate.

Policy and Practice is informed by values such as social justice, equality and interdependence and is based on the concept of education as an agent of positive social change.  The journal espouses the idea of praxis – a process of analysis, reflection and action – that enables the learner to become an active citizen at local and global levels.

Policy and Practice is the only development education journal published in Ireland and is funded by Irish Aid, the government body responsible for overseas aid and development education. It is published on a stand-alone web platform (www.developmenteducationreview.com) and in 2015 received 150,000 visitors from across the world. Policy and Practice has also generated 500 citations in books and other journals underpinning its value in supporting research, article writing and publications.
