Influencing Government, changing policy, campaigning for the needs of Children and Young people is a vital part of our work. As the NI Campaigns and Policy Advisor you'll be working from our Belfast Office to support the work of all our services across Northern Ireland to speak up about the needs of Children Young People and Families.  

How you'll make a difference:

By Working collaboratively with Policy and Campaigns, Operations, Fundraising, Communications and other colleagues to deliver Action for Children's political influencing in NI.

By listening to children, young people and families to ensure that our work is informed and led by people affected by the issues we seek to address

By leading the policy work of Action for Children in Northern Ireland, based on agreed priorities, by responding to the Government agenda and developing proactive analysis in priority areas.

What you'll need:

Third level qualification in a relevant subject

Experience in a policy or campaigns role, preferably within the Children's sector

Understanding of the NI Political and Social Care environment

Good influencing and planning skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Car driver or access to a vehicle for business purposes

The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
