It is understood that the AIMS of the BASE, as clarified in NHSCT‟s Five Year Strategy, are as follows: a) “To create opportunities for people to meet and make friends” b) “Persons attending will generally have low dependency needs and should be able to travel independently” c) “The goal would be to have users taking responsibility for the activities and running of the Drop-In Centres (BASES)” with a Steering Group overseeing the running of each facility.
