Victims & Survivors Trust (VAST) are seeking to recruit a bank of suitably qualified psychologists and counsellors. The Counselling service will be specifically aimed at individuals who have been directly affected by the NI conflict/troubles.

Victims & Survivors Trust (VAST) are seeking to recruit a bank of suitably qualified psychologists and counsellors.  Interested parties are invited to apply on an individual basis or as part of an organisation/consortium.

Counsellor/Counselling Psychologist – A small number of hours available per month to be delivered as part of our VSP funded programme 2017-2020 (subject to funding may be extended).

The Counselling service will be specifically aimed at individuals who have been directly affected by the NI conflict/troubles. 

Principle duties of post:

  1. To undertake a preliminary assessment of clients (within our own internal standards VAST requires that this role be carried out by a trained psychologist).
  2. To formulate a therapeutic service plan conducive to client, need.
  3. To ensure that clients receive prompt and professional communication at all times.
  4. To maintain files, case notes etc. in adherence with organisation policies on data protection.
  5. To complete pre-and post-evaluative assessment.
  6. Use CORENET system for monitoring and evaluation of impact on clients
  7. To work to a code of ethics and practice appropriate to relevant professional body. 

Essential Criteria:

  1. Accredited with a professional body appropriate to therapeutic modality, for example UKCP, ICP, IACP, BABCP, BACP - all counselling psychologists must be registered with HCPC.
  2. Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience post qualification of delivering therapy for groups and individuals working with victims of the conflict or in a trauma related area. 
  3. Have undertaken regular clinical supervision with an approved Supervisor.
  4. Experience of using CORE system.
