To provide a skilled advocacy support service to children and young people being cared for by relatives/family friends who require advice, representation and assistance on their rights and entitlements.

Our ‘Kinship Care Support Service’ is funded by the Big Lottery Fund through the Reaching Out Empowering Young People Programme.  

This is a fixed term post for 6 months.  

Salary £20,697 per annum

Based in Derry/Londonderry.

  • Degree (or equivalent) qualification in social work, law or other related field

  • At least 2 years experience (out of the last 5 years) working with children and/or young people.

  • Knowledge and understanding of current law, policy and issues relating to children and young people in kinship care in Northern Ireland.

  • A current driving licence with access to a car. (Can be waived in the case of applicant whose disability prohibits driving, but who is able to organise suitable alternative arrangements).

  • IT skills
