Admin & Finance Officer - Cooperation Across Borders for Biodiversity

Cooperation Across Borders for Biodiversity (CABB) is a €4.78m project that will be delivered across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the west coast of Scotland.

Funding of €4.62m from the European Regional Development Fund, administered locally by the Special EU Programmes Body, and match funding from the government of Northern Ireland (NI) and the Republic of Ireland (RoI), RSPB Scotland and Mines Restoration Limited has brought six partners together to deliver a five year project ending in December 2021. The RSPB NI as Lead Partner will deliver CABB in partnership with BirdWatch Ireland, RSPB Scotland, Northern Ireland Water, Butterfly Conservation and Moors for the Future.   

RSPB NI is seeking an Administration & Finance Officer to provide support to the CABB Programme Manager and wider CABB Team in NI, Scotland and the RoI until December 2021. You will provide administrative, financial and reporting support to ensure the CABB Team delivers a programme of work to enhance the conservation status of 2228ha of active raised bog and blanket bog and produce eight Conservation Action Plans (CAPs) on Natura 2000 (N2K) sites across all three jurisdictions.   

We are looking for candidates who are self motivated and pride themselves on delivering high standards. They will have excellent communication, organisational, time management, administration and financial management skills alongside a proactive attitude.  They will thrive on variety and a fast paced work place. They will bring a solutions focused approach to juggling and delivering a variety of tasks from managing the diary commitments of the Programme Manager, making claims for grant funding, spend forecasting and auditing and preparing progress reports to supporting the administrative needs of the wider CABB Project Team.

 You will be employed by the RSPB Northern Ireland and will be based within the offices of RSPB HQ in Belvoir Park, Belfast, Northern Ireland.  The CABB Programme Manager will also be based in RSPB NI HQ and other CABB ‘on-the-ground’ delivery staff will be employed in each country.
