POST:                                 Accommodation & Community Support Worker (Permanent & Emergency Staff Required)

SALARY:                            NJC Points 16 – 20, £16,937 - £19,012 per annum Or £9.72 per hour

DEPARTMENT:                  Homelessness Services

HOURS OF WORK:          Rotation shift pattern (average 35 hours per week). Reasonable hours outside this may be required to fulfil the duties of this position.

 

JOB PURPOSE

Work as part of an area team to provide effective 24 hour case management support services (accommodation units, transition into the community, within the community or hub, where in place) as required.

 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

1. NVQ Level 2 or 4 GCSE’s at Grade C or above including Maths and English OR an equivalent qualification.

2. One year’s full time relevant experience either in accommodation or community based services, working directly with individuals and/or families with complex needs.Your experience must include demonstrable evidence of having worked with clients presenting with at least three of the following:

- mental health problems

- drug and alcohol issues

 - challenging behaviours

 - history of offending

 - youth homelessness.

3. Experience in risk assessment, risk management needs assessment and support planning.Good standard of IT skills.

4. Good standard of IT skills.

 

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

1. Valid driving license and access to a car or other form of transport to undertake duties associated with the role.

ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL CRITERION FOR SUPPORT WORKERS FOR 242 ANTRIM ROAD PROJECT AND COLERAINE – MOUNT STREET MEWS.

2. One year’s experience working with young people aged 16-18.
