We are currently seeking suitable individuals to join our board of trustees. If you have good communication skills; enthusiasm, commitment to helping others and are willing to work as part of a dedicated team then this could be a voluntary role for you.

We are a small but vibrant charity that exists to show the love of God through education, transforming the lives of impoverished children and their communities in Uganda, by raising funds, increasing awareness and motivating people to give sacrificially.

To enable us to continue to meet our mission of supporting the projects in Uganda, Abaana is seeking to recruit up to 4 new trustees. We are interested in people with expertise or experience in one or more of the following:

·         Legal

·         Marketing / PR

·         Human Resources

·         Finance / Fundraising

·         Strategic Planning

The Trustees assist in guiding the strategic and operational priorities and direction of Abaana, provide leadership to the organisation, support the Managing Director and act as ambassadors for the organisation.

Potential Trustees should be:

·         Able to demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to the charity’s aims.

·         A committed Christian with a personal relationship with God and in regular church fellowship.

Desirable skills for all trustees include knowledge and experience of management and governance of either statutory, private, community or voluntary organisations.

If you are an individual with good communication skills; enthusiasm, commitment to helping others, and are willing to work as part of a dedicated team then this could be a voluntary role you may consider of interest.

The commitment required of our trustees over a three–year term of office would involve attendance at:

  • At least 7 out of 12 board meetings per year, each lasting approximately 2 hours – usually on a Monday evening
  • Availability for other occasional meetings eg Strategic Planning, Interviewing, attending key fundraising events with other Board Members

All applicants will fill in a short expression of interest form, supply the names of 2 referees and undergo a short interview with 2 members of the Board.
