The person appointed will be responsible for actively targeting, recruiting and engaging children and young people for a new children and young people’s Support Project. The Worker will design, facilitate and deliver a range of activities and Programmes.

 

  • To work directly with young people in an individual and group capacity to develop their personal, social and health development  by assessing need and providing a programme of activities, experiences and services designed to meet those expressed needs
  • To establish contact with, befriend, advise and support children and young people referred to the Project.  Promote, encourage and facilitate new activities and Programmes and participation among the children and young people in line with organisational policies, guidelines and procedures
  • To support the children and young people by offering the opportunity to take part in new Emotional Health and Well Being,  Personal Development, Safety and Healthy Living Programmes
  • To engage with and supervise children and young people individually or in Groups whilst undertaking Project Activities and Programmes or while being transported to and from such
  • To work directly with the local primary and secondary schools encouraging pupils and students to take part in the new programmes designed and delivered by the workers and to provide information to referral Agencies, Sources and individuals.
  • To liaise with local Family Support, Counselling, Youth and Community Organisations and facilitate referrals from and to these Groups 
  • To develop good relationships with parents whose children are participating in the Project 
  • To represent the organisations’ aims, needs and interests with relevant community, statutory and voluntary organisations to ensure the service to young people is effective 
  • To use appropriate ICT packages in keeping records to help the project meet its monitoring, evaluation and administration requirements 
  • To ensure Health and Safety Standards are maintained and adhered to throughout the Project 
  • To participate in supervision, appraisals, meetings and training as and when required 
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties which may be required from time to time.
