When Something Unspeakable Happens. How does a Family Make Sense of Sexual Abuse?

This one day workshop will explore the psychological impact of sexual abuse upon survivors.

This workshop aims to help families understand the psychological cycle of abuse.  By understanding abuse and its long term impact upon the survivor, families can reconnect and learn to speak about unspeakable things. This workshop is suitable for family members, partners and friends of survivors. It is suitable for counsellors (trainees and qualfied) to gain insight into the long term impact that abuse has on the survivor and upon the wider family.

Susan Harvey has been a practising counsellor for 21 years. She has worked continuously with survivors of abuse and their families.  Susan is also an experienced supervisor and lecturer.
