War Memorials Trust staff will be running three workshops in Northern Ireland in September 2016. These are designed to highlight available grant funding, best conservation practice and how the charity can assist custodians and communities look after their

Agenda/Workshop Content

Each workshop will cover the same issues along the following lines:

  1. Introduction: Introduction to War Memorials Trust, discussion of what a war memorial is and sources of current funding
  2. What is eligible for funding and starting a project: Outline of what is eligible for funding and details on how to start a grant application
  3. Applying for a grant and best conservation practice: Outline of the grants process and the requirements for application, project management and completion including a discussion on best conservation practice
  4. Other sources of help: Details of other sources of funding or advice available around war memorials
  5. Other War Memorials Trust activity: Information about War Memorials Online, Learning Programme and In Memoriam 2014
  6. Concluding question and answer session

Length of workshop

The evening sessions are expected to last around 2.5 hrs. The daytime session will be a little longer will more time available for discussion and networking.

Booking

There is no charge for the event but a place must be booked as there is limited space.

To book a place

Those who successfully book a place will be advised and a waiting list created for those who are unsuccessful. We may limit places to two per organisation to enable as many different people and organisations as possible to attend but this will be judged as we receive bookings.
