Volunteer Impact Assessment Toolkit

Volunteer Now

Volunteer Now

Cost: Varies - please see website

This is a one day training course for those wishing to learn more about how to use the Volunteer Impact Assessment Toolkit.

Measuring the impact of volunteering activites is increasingly important as the demand for organisations to evidence the impact and outcomes from their work becomes greater.  Generally, charities are very good at talking about what they are doing but are not as good at stating why they do it and what it achieves (New Philanthropy Capital, 2010).  The Volunteer Impact Assessment Toolkit provides information and customisable tools which organisations of all sizes can use to measure impact and therefore evidence what is being achieved.

Volunteer Now offers a one day training course to supplement the written toolkit handbook.  The aim of the session is to guide people through the handbook, using exercises and group discussion to hlpe people start planning their own assessment.  When booking onto the course, you will be invoiced for the cost of the hard copy handbook and 1 day training.  You will receive the toolkit handbook on the day of the training.

The morning session (10.00am - 1.00pm) will cover what the toolkit is for, the benefits of it, how to decide who to include in the assessment and choose the most suitable tools to use.

The afternoon session (2.00pm - 3.30pm) will give participants the opportunity to work with raw data generated from the tools and introduce suitable analytical techniques.  It will also cover ways of reporting the results of the assessment and highlight the importance of practical planning.
