Volunteer Impact Assessment Toolkit

Volunteer Now

Volunteer Now

This is a one day training course for those wishing to learn more about the Volunteer Impact Assessment Toolkit.

Buying the Toolkit
The Toolkit is a written guide which provides step-by-step instructions for conducting your impact assessment.  This includes providing template questionnaires, topic guides and diaries which organisations can use to gather information to evidence the difference that volunteering is making.  You can buy the Toolkit directly from Volunteering England if you are not interested in the supplementary training that Volunteer Now provide.

Training Session
If you are interested in coming to the FREE training session then you can buy the Toolkit as part of this session and pick up the copy of the Toolkit on the day of the training.  Volunteer Now offers a free one day training course to supplement the written handbook, the main part of the session is to guide people through the handbook, using exercises and group discussion to help people to start planning their own assessment.  The training day is split into 2 parts, the first part explains the background and component parts of the Toolkit.  The second part of the day gives groups an opportunity to practice working with raw data, those people who already have a knowledge of research tools and analysis can decide not to stay for this part of the day.

The morning session (10.00am-1.00pm) will cover what the Toolkit is for, the benefits of it, how to decide who to include in the assessment and the most suitable tools to use.

The afternoon session (2.00pm-3.30pm) will give participants the opportunity to work with raw data generated from the tools and introduce suitable analytical techniques.  It will also cover ways of reporting the results of the assessment and highlight the importance of practical planning and introduce things to consider.

The next training session will take place on 15 March 2012 from 10.00am-3.30pm in the training room of Volunteer Now's offices at Shaftesbury Square.

You can also contact Julie Aiken to find out more about the Toolkit and the training and support that is available - [email protected] or tel: 028 9023 2020.
