NICVA and Social Enterprise NI (SENI) are delighted to offer this new two-day course that they have have worked together to develop for those in the voluntary and community sector interested in finding out more about starting a social enterprise.

Have you ever wondered what organisations do with their profits? Are you aware of the term social enterprise? More and more people are wanting to support those local organisations in their area who put their profits back into their community and not pay out to shareholders. Social enterprises are businesses that strive to support those around them in most need and generate income from goods and services.

Interested? Why not come along and hear more about this at the joint NICVA/Social Enterprise NI training on 27 September and 3 October?  You will hear more about the business model and also have the opportunity to attain an accreditation.

Join the many people and organisations who see the social enterprise business model as the future. A future that works for you and the community around you. Come and hear some great examples of what social enterprises in your area are doing and maybe you will follow them!

This two-day course is aimed at managers and board members that would like some more information and support on things to consider when starting a social enterprise. It will give you the opportunity to learn from those with expertise and knowledge in social enterprise development as well as network with others in group. There will be guest speakers from social enterprises at various stages of development that will share their experiences and take questions.

The training is from 10.00am-4.00pm in NICVA on 27 Sept and 3 October 2017

You will have the option of competing an assignment and gaining and Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 5 Understanding Social Enterprise Unit accreditation. The cost of this is an additional £50.

The topics covered during the two days are:

  • Whether an organisation is suited to the social enterprise model
  • The organisational and legal structures of social enterprises
  • The financial arrangements of social enterprises
  • The support needs and sources of support for social enterprise

The training will be delivered in an interactive and participative way using current and local case studies.

The cost of the two days is £150 (NICVA and SENI members), £220 (non members). If you would like to ILM accreditation it will be an additional £50.
