Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Individuals on the autism spectrum are that, individuals. The workshop will discuss the various behaviour traits that people on the spectrum may display in certain situations. It will also help understand the diagnosis better as well as providing some strategies that can make certain situations easier for the person. 

Who should attend?

  • Parents and carers of children with a confirmed diagnosis of Autism or related disorder.
  • Parents and carers of children referred for or under assessment for Autism or related disorder.
  • Individuals involved with families of children with Autism e.g. health visitors, family support workers, social workers, etc.
  • Individuals directly supporting children and young people with Autism e.g. teachers, teaching assistants, education welfare officers, youth workers, etc.
  • Individuals working with or supporting young children with Autism/suspected autism e.g. early years, childcare workers, etc.
  • Those in community and voluntary settings where projects involve working with children and young people with Autism/suspected autism.

Refreshments and light lunch included.

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
