'A Titanic Year for Belfast' Exploring Engagement FREE Lunchtime Seminar - Thursday 1st March 2012 at the Reception Hall, Belfast City Hall 12.30-1.30pm

Belfast City Council is hosting a series of lunchtime seminars to explore the 'who, what, where, when and why' of engagement. Over the past 18 months the Council has taken the lead in a community engagement programme which aims to ensure that everyone, right across the city, feels part of the excitement surrounding the redevelopment of Titanic Quarter and the opening of Titanic Belfast, the world’s largest Titanic themed visitor attraction.
This month’s seminar features a trio of speakers, all of whom have been central to this work. Lisa McCartney, Titanic Quarter Project Coordinator with Belfast City Council, will outline the scope of the community engagement work before Reverend Chris Bennett, Chaplin of the Dock at Titanic Quarter and ‘Titanic Ambassador’, reflects on the speed of change at Titanic Quarter and how these changes have affected perceptions and beliefs throughout the city. The session will conclude with Gerry Copeland, City Events Manager with Belfast City Council, who will outline some of the stunning events that will take place in Belfast as part of the Titanic 2012 Festival.
